03/16/25 Having lived in Portland since '98, and having wondered about the submarine parked outside OMSI, I finally decided to take a tech tour of the SS Blueback. Only 4 people in the tour, guided by a volunteer who served on a sub. TONS of great info, both tech and what it's like to be part of the crew. The tour lasted nearly five hours. Got to crawl in lots of dark places you normally don't get to see on a regular tour. I'll add more text at some point. the pix speak in the meantime. VERY hightly recommended, for those in town.
