Day 2 - business, etc The purpose of the trip is to meet with a client who happens to be staying in Florence at the moment. There is a broad agenda to cover. The hotel has a top-floor breakfast hall with access to the roof. A great place to enjoy a coffee and start the day with a view.
The meetings are at the Four Seasons hotel, which is a former Medici palace. Very cool to experience it.
Later we take a cab to a factory in the industrial section of town. It is not particularly picturesque. For sightseeing, the old city center is the place to be. After a long day I pass out early, just to be awoken by a business facetime call at 1am. After which I have to generate and send some spreadsheets. Now it's 3am and I can't sleep. Might as well go walking around town to see what it's like without people. Very glad I did.
In over two hours of walking I encountered less than a dozen people. Very cool to see the city this way. Tomorrow is my last day here.
