Day 6 - ASA104 on-water and written test The new day is sunny again, and while we do find some wind here and there it is mostly light.
For lunch, we just float. Some dolphins join us for a bit (the boat song pops back into my head - 'this ain't seaworld, it's as real as it gets' ;).
The pictures aren't great but prove it happened. Our next and final moorage is Eagle Harbor on Cypress Island, where we again get to practice mooring to a buoy. It's a spectacular spot and the sunset doesn't disappoint.
This is also where we take the 104 written test. We are warned that it is more challenging than the previous ones, and involves charts and math (which Rod went over with us earlier). I have to say, in terms of relevance and timeliness of instruction, this is one of the best courses I've ever taken. What doesn't help is that I haven't studied the book as closely as I should have. So I do a quick review and then I'm as ready as I'm going to be. I end up with a 94% score. We go over the questions I missed, which is valuable learning in itself, and then it's dinner time.
Tomorrow is a relatively short leg back to Anacortes. Hoping for some sailing, but we shall see what the weather will do.
