03/28/18 Three months almost to the day since the last D2 post - time to start a new chapter. The lack of posting does not mean lack of activity. Quite the opposite. Too busy doing work to write about it :) So some of the highlights:

Custom glass was done and received. Fits perfectly as far as contours go but the molds need to be modified for depth of pockets (done as of this writing).

The frame for custom-bodied D2 derivative is done, it will await its bodywork whenever the customer completes it.

LSA engine received and drysump installed for one of the D2s in progress. Good things come in big crates, sometimes.

Roadster body panels are fitted, trimmed and now painted for another D2 - it will be leaving the shop soon.

The interior and coupe bodywork are finally moving forward in earnest. Still much work to be done but it's actually happening.

And there are other potential exciting news in the works, but it's a little early to talk about. Hopefully soon.

03/30/18 The upgraded D2 Roadster is ready to leave the shop. It's quite a transformation - first two pix are before (white), the rest now (yellow). Aside from bodywork it's the same car. It will get a rear wing shortly.

06/14/18 Some more progress on the D2 front. Yes, it is going slower than we'd like but it's going. Lots of other things are now off our plate and more D2 specific stuff on the horizon, so things will move faster.

The seat insert is almost ready for molding. We started on this a year ago, and after countless changes along the way it's finally getting there. From this:

To this, with some steps along the way:

The melamine box will serve as flanging and provides accurate edges for the mold. Once some final touch-up is done the mold will finally get made.

Another thing we did is updated our roadster rear wing setup and sent it off to be mounted on the yellow car that recently got new bodywork. Still need to figure out something that will work for the coupe version, but one step at a time.

The front wing is inside the front intake ducts.

We will make compound endplates for the front wing to make it more effective, that's on the list. Also progressing on better front and rear turn signal setup, AC, doors, coupe bodywork and many other things.

So it's not like we've been twiddling our thumbs :) Big part of the process is simply figuring out how to do stuff - from design to manufacturing to assembly. It's a lot of interconnected pieces that all have to work together.
