12/20/20 It's been over two years since the last post on this blog. It's not that nothing has been happening - the D1 that's still here in Portland has been doing 20+ trackdays a year and is now over 9 years old. It's just that running it has been routine for Neil, the current owner. Just show up and run, with only minimal basic maintenance. Search youtube for 'Palatov D1' for some of his videos over the years. His better laps would have put him at the tail end of LMP grid at Portland, back when they ran there. Reason for this post is that today we decided to do our own trackday at Oregon Raceway Park. In the rain. With 45F ambient temps. Just to see what it's like. Turns out the car is extremely capable in the wet, with Neil easily getting into 1:53 range having never run the car in the rain before. Another nod for the AWD system. Here's a quick couple of videos: Some random pix below.
I learn more every day. Other priorities have demanded my attention for past couple years, but we're getting those wrapped up. Hopefully next year we'll finally get around to experimenting with new aero. Some things take longer than expected, but as long as fun is had along the way, it's all good. Site Sponsors and Links:
